Douglas P. Moody

Douglas Paul Moody, 65, of Rostraver, PA, passed away February 17, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in North Charleroi, PA on June 6, 1956. Doug was the son of the late Thomas J. and Dolores (Trembush) Moody. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas J. Moody Jr. (TJ), and his son, Adam D. Moody.

In spite of cancer’s power, Doug spent these last two years like he lived the rest of his life – to the fullest. He was a passionate and adventurous man who thoroughly enjoyed many interests and hobbies.  A truck driver by trade, Doug liked snowmobiling from PA to Canada, bear and deer hunting, motorcycle riding and rallies, boating on the river, wings, Coors light, coffee, and beautiful women. One of the most politically incorrect, but blatantly honest men you would ever meet, Doug was a realist who had his way with words. Among friends, many of his key phrases became Known as Dougisms. With his honesty and humor, Doug was either the kind of man you loved or did not care for at all. Doug was perfectly OK with that response!

Left to cherish Doug’s memory are his daughter, Carissa J. Moody, and a list of loyal and dedicated friends that could fill pages.  Doug’s friends not only adventured with him, but also supported and stood by his side until the end. Dana, Lou, Prok, Brian, Bird, Steve, and Todd were particularly close to Doug and helpful to his daughter at the end. Doug will be missed, remembered, and laughed with for many years to come. Doug passed away at his home surrounded by his daughter and friends, leaving life as he lived it – on his terms.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA 15401. Doug did not wish for a traditional funeral and mourning, but instead a celebration of his life to be held in spring. Friends will be notified of the date once determined.

Memories and condolences can be shared with the family at adferguson.com and on the funeral home Facebook page.
