C. Ralph Bliss

C. Ralph Bliss, age 78, of Uniontown, PA, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home. He was born August 3, 1945 in DuBois, PA, son of the late Ralph P. Bliss and Leona S. Bliss.

 

Ralph graduated from Brockway High School with the class of 1963 and then from Waynesburg College with a degree in History and Government. He was an educator at Uniontown Area High School for thirty-five years and enjoyed coaching tennis, advising the usherettes, and running the scoreboard for football and basketball games.  He was also the PIAA State Licensed Basketball and Wrestling Referees Association secretary and treasurer for many years and a referee for thirty-seven years.

 

Ralph was a faithful member of Laurel Lodge #651 F & A.M where he served as Worshipful Master, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Pittsburgh Consistory, Syria Shrine Caravan #9, Union Royal Arts Chapter # 165, Uniontown Commandery Chapter #7 where he served as Commander and secretary/treasurer, Gold Wing Road Riders of America Chapter E of Belle Vernon, W3PIE Uniontown Amateur Radio Club (KB3LBB) where he served as a V.E. Examiner, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #370 of Uniontown, and Asbury United Methodist Church where he served on the administrative board and as an usher. He loved traveling on his motorcycle logging over forty states and five provinces in Canada.

 

Left to cherish Ralph’s memory are his daughter, Lynn Bliss, step-sons Richard (Nicole) and Joseph (Desiree) Walkos, and Carol Lecorchick.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where friends will be received on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM. Visitation will continue in the funeral home on Friday May 31, 2024 from 9 until 10 AM, followed by a service celebrating Ralph’s life at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Mac Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Cemetery, Reynoldsville, PA at 3:30 PM.

 

Masonic service will be held Thursday at 7:30 PM.

 

The family suggests donations may be made in Ralph’s memory to Laurel Lodge #651 F. & A.M. or the Uniontown Amateur Radio Club.
