Shawn Edward McAninch, age 64 of Uniontown, PA, passed away at his home on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. He was born June 7, 1959 son of the late Harold E. McAninch and Dolores Walters McAninch. In addition to his parents, Shawn was preceded in death by his brother, Scott McAninch.
Shawn was a 1977 graduate of Uniontown High School. He was a member of the Church of The Brethren. Shawn worked as a sales person for Ross Brother’s Sporting Goods for many years. He was a member of the Republican Committee. Shawn was proud of and embraced his Scottish heritage.
Left to cherish Shawn’s memory are his sister, Susan McAninch of Perryopolis; brother Timothy A. McAninch and wife Carol of Finleyville, PA and niece and nephews, Kathy, Christopher and Curtis.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA. In accordance with the family’s wishes there will be no public viewing.
Shawn and I worked together at Malloy’s Cameracade, you will find no kinder soul than Shawn. Working with him was always a hoot! We both had Dusters back in 1979 and I’m not sure who drove crazier. I never rubbed it in that his had a 318 and mine a 340. We remained friends when jobs took us different ways yet I always felt close to him. The world has really lost a shinning light. The news of his passing held quite an impact to me. I will deeply miss him. Until we meet again I love ya Shawn

I miss my friend Shawn. I miss him walking down the sidewalk and stopping to talk at my window then going in the cafe to sit at his table & eat his take out dinner. I miss our lunches at DQ. We knew Shawn for 30 years thru the good times and the bad times. He was my sparring partner (i miss that) Shawn being the contrarian he was always brought to light another view!!!
