Helen “Toots” Fordyce, 88, passed away at Mt. Macrina Manor on December 21, 2023 in Uniontown, PA. She was born on April 15, 1935 in Uniontown and was the daughter of John and Helen Vratarich, who proceeded her in death. She attended South Union High School. On December 31, 1953 she married Harold Fordyce. They enjoyed over 38 years of marriage until his passing on January 2, 1992. Her brother John Vratarich, sister-in-law Joan Vratarich, and her brother-in-law, James “Slugger” Logan , also proceeded her in death.
She is survived by her beloved nieces and nephews: Karen (Dee) Craig; John “J.R.” (Judi) Vratarich; Gary (Tammy) Vratarich; Susan (Dan) Hopkins; Scott (Jo) Vratarich and their children: Gavin Craig; Matthew (Ashley), Joseph (Maggie) & Emily (fiancé Max Hutchinson) Vratarich; Tyler (Catherine) & Nick Hopkins and Kyle & Troy Vratarich. She is also survived by her great-great nieces and nephews: Gabriel, Adelaide and Xavier Craig; Liam and Aurora Hopkins, Samuel and Chloe Vratarich and Nathan Vratarich. In addition, she is survived by her special cousin, Stacy Thomas (Ted Mincer).
She was a lifelong member of the Moose Club in Uniontown.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery with a graveside service on (date, time). Donations in “Toots” memory can be made to: Mt Macrina Manor, 520 W. Main St., Uniontown, PA 15401
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories, Inc., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA 15401. A graveside service will held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at noon in the Mountain View Cemetery, Hopwood, PA with the Rev. Dr. Heather Simpson officiating
