Thelma Ruth Franks Jones, age 85, of Uniontown, passed away, Saturday, March 7, 2020 in Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Hopwood, PA on January 17, 1935, the daughter of George E. Harding and Gwendolyn V. Lehman Harding. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a husband, Robert W. Franks; two sisters, Edna Ruth Swaney and Barbara A. Vilk; two brothers, James Harding and Raymond Harding.
Thelma was a bookkeeper for many years at Mallory’s Camerade before retirement. She was a member of the Central Christian Church.
Left to cherish Thelma’s memory are a daughter, Deborah Surak and Jerry of High House; granddaughter, Jamie Mancini and husband Christopher of Carmichaels; a great granddaughter, Anna Marie Mancini; brother -in-law, Buddy Vilk of Uniontown and many stepsons, stepdaughters, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where friends will be received on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in the Central Christian Church on Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Thelma’s life with Rev. Heather Simpson. officiating.
