Robert D. Festog, 90, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was born December 2, 1933 in Uniontown son of the late, Julius A. Festog and Emily Karkosiak Festog. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris A. Sliger Festog; brother, Julius H. Festog and sisters, Dorothy Festog, Eleanor Festog, Carolyn Moore and Emily Barnes
Bob was a 1951 graduate of Uniontown High School and a 1956 graduate of West Virginia University School of Pharmacy. Bob started his career at the Hopwood Pharmacy and later worked at the Blumenshein Pharmacy. He retired as a Sales Representative for Eli Lilly and Company. Bob was a life time member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where he served 36 years on the Church Council. He also served as an usher and assistant Eucharistic Minister. He was very active in the church. Bob was a past member of the Uniontown Kiwanis Club and was a member of the band parent’s association. He enjoyed gardening, trains, and building and flying radio control planes.
Bob’s greatest blessing was marrying the love of his life, Doris Ann Sliger. He was the loving father of three wonderful children. Bob was very active in his children’s lives when they were growing up and his greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish Robert’s memory are his daughter, Cathy Giffin and husband Chip of DuBois, PA; two sons, Dave Festog and wife Laurie of Butler, PA and Daniel Festog of Bobtown, PA; sister, Betty Lee Furin of Uniontown; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be on Saturday, March 9th from 2 until 4 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, Marth 10th from Noon to 1:00 p.m. followed by a service celebrating Robert’s life at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Anderson officiating. Interment will follow to Chalk Hill Lutheran Cemetery, Chalk Hill, PA.
