Marshall W. “Woody” Flynn, Jr., age 69, of New Salem, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Sinkko’s Veteran’s Service Home. He was born in Hopkinsville, KY, son of Marshall W. Flynn, Sr. and Betty Jane Strothers Flynn. In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by a grandchild, Holly Murphy; two brothers, Ronald “Milo” Flynn and Danny Flynn.
Woody was a graduate of Southmoreland High School with the class of 1972. He worked as steelworker before his disability. He was a member of the Dawson Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed hunting and fishing
Left to cherish Woody’s memory are his son, Marshall “Richie” Flynn of Dawson; three daughters, Linda Ohler of Uniontown, Marsha Murphy of New Salem, and Ashley Flynn of Uniontown; twelve grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; six brothers, David Flynn of Japan, James “Mike” Flynn, Richard “Bones” Flynn of Uniontown, Robert “Bobbie: Flynn of Connellsville, Timothy Flynn of Scottdale and PeeWee Williams of Morgantown, WV; three sisters, Daisy Huffine of Leisenring, Patricia Schaum of New Martinsville, WV and Hazel “June” Hertznell of Connellsville; and a companion, Roxy Shank of New Salem.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories, Inc., 80 Morgantown St, Uniontown, PA 15401, where family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 4 until 6 PM followed by a service celebrating Woody’s life at 6 PM with Rev. Donna Jeffrey Straight officiating. Interment will be private.
