John William Bendishaw

John William “Bill” Bendishaw, 79, of New Salem, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022, surrounded by his family.  He was born August 17, 1942, the son of John Bendishaw and Theresa Verban Bendishaw. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Bendishaw, stepson Ronnie McGee, and infant son, John William Bendishaw, Jr.

 

Bill served in the U. S. Army then worked as a steelworker for many years. He was a member of the Bridge Baptist Church of Masontown. Bill enjoyed drag racing and having a good time.

 

Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his sisters, Rosemary Bendishaw of Carmichaels, and Patty Riggin of Bitner; two sons, William Bendishaw and wife Carla of Masontown and J.T. Bendishaw of Uniontown; three daughters, Theresa Carr and husband Terry of Akron, OH, Heather Bendishaw of Chicago, IL and Jolene Bendishaw of Point Marion.   Four grandchildren, Brittany, Darin, Julie and Brandi; four great grandchildren, Hannah, Abel, Noah and Alaina.  Also dear to him were his sister-in-law, Pam Bendishaw of Uniontown; stepson, Jim (Terrie) and their children, Jeremiah (Julie), Joshua, Jesse (Rebekah) and Jim’s seven grandchildren, stepson, Duck (Debbie) and their daughters, Cassie, Jessica (Josh), and Rebecca and Duck’s four grandchildren and his deceased stepson Ronnie’s wife Wendy and daughter Sarah and two grandchildren.   He was very grateful for his former wife and caretaker, Robin Brangard Bendishaw and her family, Billie Jean, Anna Leigh, Logan and Tony Cramer.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where friends and family will be received on Saturday, March 19th from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. followed by a service celebrating Bill’s life at 2 p.m. with Rev. Aaron Douthitt officiating.  Interment will be private.

 

The family has asked that anyone sending flowers please refrain from including Peonies due to allergies among family members.
