James Lloyd Stephens

James Lloyd Stephens age 76, of Smock, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, after battling dementia and a stroke. He passed away in the loving care of Eicher’s Family Home, of whom his family is forever grateful. James was born in Cokeville, PA on February 5, 1945, son of the late Harvey Alden Stephens and Eleanor Lilly Brown Stephens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harvey Stephens, Jr., Kenny Stephens, Bob Stephens, and infant brothers, David Stephens and Warren Stephens.

 

Jim was a graduate of Montclair High School in Montclair, California, class of 1963. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war.  After the military he then worked as a California State Police Highway Patrolman (C.H.I.P.S.), PA State Police then started his own companies (Stephens Investigations and Patrol Services and Sonrise Securities).  Jim was a member of the Bread of Life Tabernacle, Nathan Lewis Lodge # 254 I.O.O.F of Waltersburg.

 

Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his sons, James Timothy (Regina) Stephens, Edward Alden (Sara) Stephens, and Steven Orville Stephens; nine Grandchildren, Stephanie Williams, Jack Stephens, Thomas Stephens, Brandon Williams, Sarah (Eric) Myers, Jacob Stephens, Emma Stephens, Savannah Stephens and Madison Stephens; brother, George W. Stephens of Chino, CA; two sisters, Carol Duguay of N. Augusta, SC, and Audrey Molnar of Espsyville, PA and former wife, Susan Stephens.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home & Crematories, Inc., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where friends and family will be received on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 2PM- 4PM and from 6PM-8PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 21, 2022 from 2PM-4PM and 6PM-8PM. Saturday, January 22, 2022 visitation continues from 10AM-11AM followed by a service to remember Jim’s life at 11AM, officiated by Pastor John Broadwater. Internment will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery.
