Gloria J. Dawson Sickles, age 89, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Uniontown Hospital. She was born in Connellsville, PA on November 12, 1931 daughter of the late Harry Dawson and Josephine Fulmer Dawson Haas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Police Sgt. Kenneth Sickles and brother, Garth Dawson and grandson, William Charles Kobylarczyk.
Gloria was a 1949 graduate of Dunbar Township High School and attended Salvation Army Training College for one year. She spent five years in field work for the Salvation Army and a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary. Gloria was a member of Third Presbyterian Church where she was a member of Grace Bible Class and the choir.
Left to cherish Gloria’s memory are her daughter, Kathleen Sickles and fiancé`, Charles Madison of Uniontown; sisters, Lt. Col. Charlotte Hall of Cincinnati, OH and Eva Grace Broadwater and husband Daniel of Uniontown, PA and grandchildren, Kenneth Sickles and fiancé` Kiera and Dawson Sickles and fiancé`Hannah and step-grandchildren, Mallory Hillen, Melinda Madison and Mariah Kostelnik and families.
Arrangements are incomplete have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where the family will receive friends on Thursday, October 14th from 2 until 4 a.m. and 6 until 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Friday in Third Presbyterian Church from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Gloria’s life with Rev. Patrick Ewing officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
