Gladys E. Goodwin Sutton, age 92, of Marianna, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 in Grandview Estates. She was born February 8, 1931 in Brownfield, PA daughter of the late Russell G. Goodwin and Mary R. DeVault Goodwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jon T. Sutton and sisters, Virginia Sutton and Naomi Goodwin.
Gladys was a graduate of South Union High School. She was a member of Murrells Inlet S.C. Presbyterian Church. Gladys worked as a bookkeeper for West Point Products. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 857.
Left to cherish Gladys’ memory are her sons, Jon Mark Sutton (Pam) of Scenery Hill, PA and Jody Sutton (Rebecca) of Goose Creek, SC; daughter Lori Hockenberry (Dan) of Clarksville, PA; brother, Russell N. Goodwin (Melanie) of Smithfield; sister, Mary Martha Hare (Tom) of Uniontown; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends will be received on Sunday, July 2nd from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Gladys’ life at 11:00 AM with Rev. Don Henderson officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
