George W. Fox, age 83, of Uniontown, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in The Gathering Place. He was born August 5, 1940 in Uniontown, son of the late George G. Fox and Edna Kahl Fox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife JoAnne Stafford Fox and brother, Richard Fox.
George was a 1958 graduate of Uniontown High School. He was the general manager for Art Snyder Sanitary Supply Co and worked there for 43 years. George faithfully attended Pleasant View Presbyterian Church where he volunteered with the Pleasant View Presbyterian Church Food Bank. George was a member of the Duck Hollow Golf Course for over 40 years. He had a Tee time at 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday with his friends. He loved biking and his frequent trips to North Carolina to visit Susan. He was a good friend, neighbor and total gentleman. He was a modest and selfless man who had a passion for helping others.
Left to cherish George’s memory are his daughter Susan Beth Fox of Uniontown; sister, Nancy Fox Hughes of Uniontown; brother-in-law, Lyman Stafford of Dorsett, OH and several nieces and nephews, Harry Hughes, Lisa Hughes, Jamie Hughes and Karen Stroupe.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, PA where the family will greet friends and family on Monday, November 20th from 4 until 6 p.m. Visitation will continue on Tuesday in Pleasant View Presbyterian Church from 5 until 6 p.m. followed by a service celebrating George’s life at 6:00 PM with Pastor Laura Blank officiating. Interment will be private.
