Samuel E. Angelo, age 84 of Uniontown, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2019 in Lafayette Manor with his loving family by his side. He was born July 28, 1935 in Searights, PA, the son of Paul Angelo and Eva Piccolomini Angelo. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Angelo, Jr. and Mary Catherine Capriotti (please check the spelling of her last name against the obituary card I left with you yesterday).
Sam was a 1953 graduate of Uniontown High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Reserves during the Korean War. Sam worked for the U.S. Bureau of Mining Research as a research miner for over thirty years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church and AMVETS Post #103 of Hopwood. He enjoyed gardening, golf, antique cars, and watching sports.
Left to cherish Sam’s memory are his son, James Paul Angelo and wife Cheryl of Smock; his granddaughter, Emily Marie Angelo; his four sisters, Regina Pedro of Uniontown, Linda Yezerio of Searights, JoAnn Wilson of Badon and Elizabeth Finnecy of Connecticut; and a very special friend, Donna Chico. Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where family and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 pm. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 8:30 until 9:30 am, prayers of transference at 9:30 followed by a funeral mass celebrating Sam’s life at 10 am in the St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be private.
