Ophelia Desiree Martin

Ophelia Desiree Martin, age 56, of Uniontown, PA passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 in the Uniontown Hospital.  She was born in Lawrenceburg, TN on August 13, 1964, daughter of Henry Brooks and Grace Martin. In addition to her parents, Desiree was preceded in death by a sister, Wretha Brooks.

 

Desiree graduated from Carmichaels High School with the class of 1982. She then received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Human Development. Desiree worked for Adelphi Village as a case worker before her illness.  She enjoyed arts and crafts, kayaking, walking and being social.

 

Left to cherish Desiree’s memory are her two sons, Ian Emerson of Lake Lynn, PA and Nathan Emerson of Uniontown: a grandson, Bryson Emerson; and two sisters, Cindy Smith of Carmichaels, Eugenia Brooks and husband Jim of Edwards, IN and many nieces, nephews and cousin.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA. Arrangements are private at her request.

I’m so sorry to find out that a good friend from high school has passed. Desiree was a close friend in our high school years. I wished we could have stayed in touch. My heart goes out to her family. Rest In Peace Desiree.
