John R. Hall, Sr.

John R. Hall, Sr., age 65, of Mt. Braddock, passed away September 6, 2023 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born October 3, 1957 in Connellsville, son of Verna (Bryner) Hall and the late Fred Stanley Hall, Sr.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Kennedy; daughter-in-law, Annette Leydig; brother, James Hall; sisters, Bonnie K. Johnson and Etta Carlene Martin and his maternal grandparents James and Harriette Bryner and paternal grandparents, John and Margaret Hall.

 

John was a spiritual person.  He previously worked in construction.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, ginseng and morrell picking and watching western movies.  John’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his mother, left to cherish John’s memory are his loving wife of 47+ years, Betty J. Wert Hall of Mt. Braddock; daughter, Joni Hall and significant other, Scott Hall of Uniontown; son, John R. Hall, Jr. and significant other, Kristen Whitfiend of Connellsville; son, Allen R. Hall of Mt. Braddock, and daughter, Jeannie M. Hall and significant other Alvaro Mucia, of Uniontown; brothers, Fred S. Hall and wife Shirley of Dunbar, David L. Hall of Dunbar, George A. Hall and wife Elaine of Palmyra, VA and Mark S. Hall of Footdale; grandchildren, Merceedes Matthew and partner Sumer, Scott, and partner Courtney, Dylan, Lucas, John III, Ian, Kameron, Allen, Jr., Medelyn, Justin and partner Carey, Savannah and partner Corey, and Lincoln; great grandchildren, Brentley, Zaiden, Rysan, Atryu, Ariella, Bryson, Hayden, Wade, Lily, Lydia and Xavier; numerous nieces and nephews; uncles, Clifford Bryner, and Robert Bryner and wife Patricia and special friends, Stacey Bowen, Marlene Miller and Brian Boggs.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREAMATORIES, INC. 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where friends will be received on Wednesday, September 13th from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. followed by a service celebrating John’s life at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sandy DeWitt officiating.  Interment will follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
