Francis M. Squires, age 75, of Uniontown, PA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born February 13, 1950 in Grafton, WV son of the late
Albert Freeman Squires and Elizabeth Ann Mumaw Squires. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Hinch Squires and brother, Dale Squires.
Francis was a 1968 graduate of Uniontown High School. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and sang in the church choir. Francis started in the fire service as a Junior Firefighter. He was a paramedic with the Uniontown Firemen’s Ambulance Corp. Francis worked as a career firefighter for the City of Uniontown for 43 years. He was a member of Keystone Volunteer Fire Company and the Fayette County Firemen’s Association. He was a Boy Scout Leader with Boy Scout Troup #608 and a Cub Scout Den Leader of Cub Scouts Troup #620. Francis enjoyed photography, trains, hiking and camping. He was a longtime employee of Simmons Farm.
Left to cherish Francis’ memory are his sons Philip Shawn Squires of Pittsburgh and Dr. Jeffrey Scott Squires and wife Dr. Kira Dreher and grandchildren, Anza Jane Squires and Adaline Daniela Squires.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA, where friends and family will be received on Tuesday March 4th from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue in Trinity United Presbyterian Church on Wednesday from 10 until 11 a.m. followed by a service celebrating Francis’ life at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Uniontown Fire Department will conduct services at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
