Bonita “Bonnie” L. Shea, age 69, of Republic, PA, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 3, 1953 in Connellsville, PA, the daughter of the late Robert Lee Kennedy, Sr, and Mary Margaret Harvey Kennedy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Brother, Robert Kennedy, Jr.
Bonnie was a graduate of Connellsville Area High School, class of 1971. She worked as an administrator for many years. Bonnie enjoyed traveling, and cooking, she loved Christmas time. Her family was her life and her greatest joy.
Left to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her husband James Shea; one daughter, Angela Pettigrew and husband Art of Grenada, Mississippi; son, Ronald Wayne Chambless of Pittsburgh; two step sons, James Shea of Thompson #1, and Michael Shea and wife Joy of Smithfield; three step daughters, Cathy Pellick and husband Randy of New Salem, Janet Johnson and husband Chris of Smithfield, and Patty Smith of Eighty Four, PA; two brothers, Ronald “Ron” Kennedy and wife Jane of Dunbar, and Douglas “Doug” Kennedy and wife Lorrie of Stafford, VA; two sisters, Yvonne “Zip” Gibbons and husband Charlie of Dawson, and Mary Alice “Sis” Basinger and husband Glenn of Dunbar; 18 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great Great Grandchildren, and lots of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly; Dear friends, Deb Collier and husband John, and her sweet pet “Girlie” that she loved dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIES, INC., 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, PA where the family will receive friends on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 2PM-4PM followed by a service at 4PM celebrating Bonnie’s life with Pastor Steve Davis officiating. Internment will be private per family request.
