Andrew D. Ferguson Jr, Andrew D. Ferguson III (standing), Jack McFadden The Ferguson Family is dedicated not only to each other but also to the local community. Since 1923, the Andrew D. Ferguson Funeral Home has been active in many clubs and community actions. Here's a profile on each of the Funeral Directors.

Andrew D. Ferguson Jr.

was born in 1940 in Uniontown and graduated from Uniontown High School in 1958. After a tour of duty in the U.S. Army, he attended Grove City College and graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. With over 35 years experience as a funeral director, A.D. Ferguson has served on the legislative committee of the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors and was the past president of the Southwestern and Greater Uniontown Funeral Directors Association. Some of his community and church activites include:

  • Uniontown Rotary Club Board of Directors and 35 year membership
  • Salvation Army Past President and board membership
  • Easter Seals of Fayette County Brace for an Ace Award recipient and honorary board membership
  • Asbury United Methodist Church trustee, pastor/parish relations committee, United Methodist Men's Bible Class and Sunday School Class

He was also named Father of the Year in 1976 by the Herald/Standard Newspaper for his devotion to his wife Sandy and his four sons. He continues to work on late model stock cars.

Jack McFadden

was born in 1926, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, serving in the pacific theater until he was honorably discharged in 1946. After graduating with honors from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1948, Jack became a funeral director in 1951 at the Ferguson Funeral Home, supervised from 1960 to 1963, directed from 1967 to 1987, and continues to work as needed after retiring in 1996. His church and community activites include:

  • Uniontown Lions Club member and past board director
  • Connellsville Rotary club member, past board director, and member of the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholardhip Committee
  • Third Presbyterian Church member and Elder; member and president of the Church Choir
  • Interfaith Care Givers Association Board of Directors
  • Fayette County Easter Seals Society Advisory Board and Equine Therapy Program

Jack has been married since 1956 to his wife Betty and is blessed with three children and seven grandchildren.

Andrew D. Ferguson III

was born in 1963 in Uniontown. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1987 in the 1st Special Forces Group, he joined his father at the Ferguson Funeral Home. Since then he has been busy not only with taking care of families at the funeral home but also with many activities in the local community, including:

  • Uniontown Rotary Club President
  • American Cancer Society
  • Easter Seal Society President
  • Uniontown Hospital Board of Trustees
  • National, Pennsylvania, and Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Associations
  • United Way board member and past chairman
  • Uniontown Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Club
  • Fayette AIDS Task Force and Leukemia Society Celebrity Waiters
  • PA Adopt A Highway sponsor
  • Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department, Chief Williams Hook and Ladder

Andrew and his wife Teresa, a longtime resident of Hopwood, enjoy raising their daughter and are currently expecting a new baby.
